Novice basic training

By the end of the 4 day course, trainees will be able to carry out a pre-shift inspection and operate forklift trucks safely. 

Trainees will also understand how to load and unload vehicles and static racking, and understand the causes of instability of forklift truck and loads.

Trainee will also  have a thorough understanding of their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and any other relevant legislation.

On successful  completion of the RTITB Theory and  practical test, trainees will be presented with an approved certificate and will be registered onto the RTITB National Operators Register database of approved forklift truck operators (NORS).

All our instructors are RTITB approved, training is provided at our training center, or on commercial sites

The RTITB Lift Truck Instructor course will provide candidates with the skills required to prepare and examine operators for the working environment of lift trucks. Candidates will be equipped to understand how to do this in accordance with agreed best practice.

Successful completion of the course will require candidates to pass an examination that covers basic operating skills, associated knowledge and practical instructional ability.

This course covers, but is not limited to, the following areas:

• Health and safety

• Relevant regulations

• Approved Code of Practice (ACOP)

• The role of the Instructor and qualities

• Basic principles of instruction

• Skills and task analysis

• Lesson structure (practical and theory)

• Report writing

• Lift truck test

5 Day instructor re-registration

On successful completion of the course the candidate can then apply for FLT instructor register with the RTITB.
